I am sorry do I sound sarcastic to you.....bite me :P

Well its a strange concept but sarcastic people do actually have a lot more brains then the regular all so sugary coated sweet people and they are also the type that is safe to have around and fun too. People just should have some tolerating stamina and an awesome  amount of co operation when it comes to dealing with the side effects of them being around.

I can prove this -

  • Sarcastic people no matter how sore the reality is always present you with the facts (though not in the manner you might have imagined).
  • Sarcastic people are the ones who see the world just as real as it really is,which may not be your idea of picture perfect. (although optimism may help sometimes).
  • If one of your best friends is sarcastic, you can always look upon them for a reality check and may be a check on yourself too.(though keeping blind faith in ourselves is good too).
  • 'Sarcasm' preferably 'wits' can be a great asset, at least those people have an opinion and a witty remark on every situation. (which may not necessarily land them in the wonderland always)
  • Apart from the reality check, at least they take the pain to think enough to have an opinion on things, which easily makes them smarter from half the people who just keep a database based on what they know and never bother to tease a brain nerve to actually connect those facts.

Apart from the last point I know I have contradicted every other one but its to actually emphasis the amount of risk and pain that these people undergo just to think straight and different (more like correct) from others.                                                         SO this ones for all the people who are sarcastic or love sarcasm and to my top 3 sarcastic characters.

Confessions Of A SHOPAHOLIC - by Sophie Kinsell

I must start by saying I was completely stuck to this i finished it in to reads and i would say it was definitely worth it. The character 'Rebecca Bloomwood' was completely mind-blowing, she was frank to the point of absurdity which was hilarious. The author definitely has a lot of imagination and used it pretty well in generating this amazing character. The way she plans her shopping list out of the lottery money which she is so sure she will definitely win is just out and out funny. She has a great personality and people can definitely relate to her and see themselves thinking, not exactly in the same way i would say but definetely close.
The fact that she is a shopaholic makes it more and more familiar to girls and ladies to relate to her even sympathize with her with all her helplessness. But as in the end she gets it all right, and in a manner that was brilliantly potrayed as justice.

What i absolutely love about this book is though the all so simple language in which the writer has epressed Rebecca's whole thought process, from an emotion of dullness to excitement, from nervous to embarassment, everything is so real and so frank that you really get the whole picture of it as if its a neighbourhood scene with the victim being a person you know really up-close.

I also saw the movie and liked it but I am definitely more impressed with the book though in my imagination I had Isla Fisher playing the lead of 'Rebecca Bloomwood' and Hugh Dancy as 'Luke Brandon'.
Though the movie as bit diffrent than the book itself but i would definetely say the book was better as in most cases they are. And it was a fantastic read to go through. I could actually see mysely laughing at her situations, feeling bad of her and also learning from her. It was a GOOD READ.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Dawson's Creek, 90210.....que sera sera

Most of the teenagers even quite a many adults follow various TV shows like F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Dawson's Creek, 90210, How I Met Your Mother etc. What is it about this TV series that attract the viewer's to them? Not only the TV series but also various movies on friendship are some of the best sellers ever and so is in the case of books. The name might be different and in some cases the genre (comedy, drama) but what they offer is the same, "an escape".
Be it F.R.I.E.N.D.S a perfect group of friends who maybe not so perfect as an individual but survive relentlessly for 10 years through various situations based on humor and sarcasm.

Or Dawson's Creek a perfect image on how a childhood friendship survives through the most severe scenarios of real life and
relationships, but still wins in the end.

After a research i have come to the following conclusion that in our so called "perfect world" but in actual sense "real world" its hard to find true relations based on friendship and love. What these series do is they lure you to the perfect picture, where you see that a group of people, no matter how mean they might sometimes act to each other or no matter how selfish they might actually are can still remain great friends, by accepting each other's flaws.

But in the real world, the scenario is pretty much in contrast, here people single you out on your flaws and constantly remark on your any mean or selfish behavior in the past. Its not only difficult to survive acting as yourself, its also hard to accept someone with their flaws and harder to accept them as 'perfect'.
But no matter how untrue be the projection, the main trick these series or movies or books for that matter, pull is they create a few fictional characters, whose characteristics you will find similar to that of yours and will start to relate to them in all manners possible. You will create a new imaginary world where you are that character is you and its problems are yours, by relating in this manner you will try to find your own problem's solutions in it, which may or may not be the case.
You become so obsessed by this that you don't want to miss a single event and thus you get addicted to it and try to watch every single episode, read the book etc. But what we don't realize in all this in that we are running away from our own real life problems in this way, looking for an easier solution to it from someone else's point of view which is not even true. If instead of escaping to this imaginary world if we stick to the real one we might nt face the problems, we are seeking the solution to in the first place.

Her Fearful Symmetry : Audrey Niffenegger

"Her fearful Symmetry" appeared as a very complicated read to me, the actions of the characters are never justified, the feelings are but are never that strong enough to justify it to the reader. For example- why would Elspeth, a mother would like to replace her own daughter's life by herself?? Why would Robert who was never clear in the first place about whom he loved, was it Elspeth or Valentina? become a part of the conspiracy.

More over I find that the events described were very sporadic and were in no way much contributing to the story. There are many mysteries that remain unresolved but not in an enticing sort of way but more of in a frustrating manner.Among the questions that I found unanswered as I read this book though, and one was, why only Valentina could see Elspeth's ghost (eventually), or even sense it, while the rest could only feel the coldness of her touch.

This whole story is set around a graveyard, and as expected, we have ghosts too. Elspeth returns as a ghost and is stuck in her apartment. Valentina especially gets to know her better, and in the process the two make some very unpleasant discoveries. I wouldn't go into that since it's a spoiler, but it's definitely a very strong issue and I think, unethical (even in a haunted world). The particular incident literally left me shell-shocked and, to use the expression, gasping for air. It's been a long time since a book did that to me. I've never been able to forgive the character responsible for it, but then Audrey Niffenegger's books don't really go in the directions you want them to. They more likely leave you with questions, tears sometimes, but in a strange way, satisfaction too, since they get you thinking more than if circumstances had taken a much "beaten" path.

The part about Martin's condition is very well described and his wistfulness for Marijke are the best parts of the story along with his overcoming the fear and finally coming all the way to Amsterdam to be with her. And its a lot to know about twins if u don't have one, but yet another unanswered mystery was if there was such a deep connection as was described, why would they split over silly reasons, why could not they just get over it and co-exist.

The character of Elspeth, Julia and Robert also fr that matter were very well described so as they were never to pure, never very shady just the right amount of grey but the reasons for it were never to clear.

The first book "Time Traveler's Wife" was a great read and it raised huge expectations from "Her fearful Symmetry" too, but its really disappointing. The way all the time slots in the last bk were woven around the story were fascinating, but here its merely a drag.
Overall not a GOOD READ.
